After using the Nathan VaporZach 2.5L running vests for 2.5 years, it was time to try out a new vests! After reading and pouring over numerous reviews using Youtube and my favorite blogs, I decided on the Salomon ADV SKIN 5. I didn’t need a large capacity vests so the 5L was perfect size for me. Here in North Carolina it has been hot so it was good to try this vest in hot conditions. Let me start off with the good first

The Good
The quality of this vests is top notch. You can feel the premium quality of the fabric.
The pockets. The placements and size of the pockets were fantastic. I appreciated the deep front pockets and the back kangaroo pass through pouch on the back.

The Bad
The front straps cut into my chest. I tried moving the straps up and down to get a good fit for the straps and I couldn’t quite get the fit right for my body. The thin bungie cords cut into my chest and caused quite a pain. I took this out for 5 miles and not sure I would like to take it any longer
HOT HOT HOT… This vest is hot. I know it was a hot day but the multiple back pockets trap heat and it makes your shirt soaked with the trap moisture.
Verdict
Unfortunately I will be returning this vests. While I appreciate the quality of the vest, I can’t get past the uncomfortable front straps. I will be looking at other running vests for a replacement
